Mildred E. Anz Hovend, 84, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010. Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday in Biggers Funeral Chapel. Interment: Our Savior's Lutheran Cemetery in Norse. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Biggers Funeral Home. Mildred was born April 22, 1926, in Clifton to Henry Sr. and Annie Thiele Anz. She married Raymond O. Hovend on Oct. 1, 1944; he preceded her in death April 18, 1985. The family would like to express sincere thanks to Covenant Hospice for the love and care they gave our mother. Survivors: Daughters, Rita Rains and husband, W.R., and Pat Gestring and fiance, Tommy Harmon; grandchildren, Nathan Gestring and wife, Kim, and Melissa Gestring and life partner, Chris Rudiger; great-grandchildren, Emily and Jenna Gestring; two brothers; three sisters; and many nieces and nephews.
