Neva Schafer, 86, St. Joseph, MO, passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2010 at her residence.
Neva Devall Schafer was born March 10, 1924 in Hugo, OK, the daughter of E. Mickel and Pauline Nancy (Miller) Anderson.
Neva was a Central Supply Technician for Heartland Regional Medical Center for 23 years. Neva was a member of the First Baptist Church, where she volunteered in the food kitchen and was a member of the Happy Seniors. She also volunteered at God's Mountain.
Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Belcher (Todda McGaughy), St. Joseph and Nancy (Reser) Parham and her husband, Percy, Platte City, MO; five grandchildren, Shawn Johnston, Kristen Coman, Jeremy and Jared Reser and Stephanie Cain; seven great grandchildren; four siblings, Rebecka Herzog, Wichita, KS, Dueward Anderson, OK, Lala Goodnight, Broken Arrow, OK and Erma Lee Singer, Tulsa, OK.
She was preceded in death by her parents, E. Mickel and Pauline Nancy (Miller) Anderson; a son, Sidney Belcher; six siblings, Henry, Grace and Ernest Anderson, Ellen Barnes, Lorene Beals and Irene Kennred.
Services 1:00 p.m. Monday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory, where fiends may call after 12:00 noon Sunday.
