Sergeant Frederick C. Soucy, Jr., 50, of North Andover died October 12, 2010, at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.
Fred, a life-long North Andover resident and self-described "Townie", was a selfless and giving person to his family, friends and town. He graduated from North Andover High School in 1978 and earned his degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Lowell in 1982, where he was a brother of the Pi Lambda Phi Fraternity.
Fred served in the North Andover Police Department for 28 years. He coached his sons in baseball from the T-Ball level up until he became too ill to do so and was also involved with the North Andover Booster Club, the North Andover Knights of Columbus, was a board member of the North Andover Credit Union, of the North Andover Festival Committee and planned the annual Holiday Parade.
Son of the late Frederick C. Sr. and Helen Marie (Murphy) Soucy, he is survived by his wife Allison (Wyllie) Soucy, whom he married in 1991, sons Alec and Colin Soucy; sister Mary Beth Soucy; brother George E. Soucy and wife Anne and their daughter Caroline; mother and father in law Jack and Claudia Wyllie, brother-in-law Glenn Wyllie and wife Beth and their children Matt and Lauren, aunts Maryanne Soucy; Peggy Mundt; and Wendy Sandberg, as well as many cousins.
