JAMES H HERB McCORD died 3 Jul 1989 in Eureka at the age of 83. A native of PuebloCO A resident of Arcata. MrMcCord came to HumboldtCnty in 1935. He was employed at California Barrel for 14yrs & later at HSU, retiring in 1970 as construction supervisor. MrMcCord was a member of the Presbyterian Church-Arcata & past master of Arcata Lodge-106 F&AM, a 32 degree Mason & a 50yr lodge member. He was also a member of the California State Retirement Assn. Mr&Mrs McCord celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary last Apr 11th.
He is survived by his wife: Hazel M McCord; his son: LeslieH McCord-Arcata; his brothers: Melvin & Taylor McCord-both of Glide OR & Charles McCord-Dillard OR; his siter: Almira Hartz-Roseburg OR; his grandchildren: Betty Jean Szalwinski & Mary Jo Lucas-both of Sacramento & 7 gr grandchildren.
Friends are invited to attend funeral services Fri Jul 7th at Paul's Chapel, Arcata with the Arcata Lodge-106 F&AM officiateing. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park-Eureka. Casketbearers will be members of Arcata Lodge-106 F&AM. Arrangements are under the direction of Pierce Mortuary Chapels-Paul's Chapel Arcata. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Soc-Humboldt Del Norte Unit.
