He was one of seven children born to parents Michael Peter, Sr. and wife Margaret Wirth. He was a farmer his entire life. He married Barbara Berberich November 23, 1875 in Wabash County and they had one son, George Michael. His wife Barbara died in 1878 days after giving birth to their daughter, Barbara. The daughter died two months later.

He married Mary Regina Ankenbrand May 25, 1880 in Bonpas, Illinois. They had nine children: Margaret; Magdalena; Joseph Francis; Martin Andrew; Rosa; Monica; Wilhelmina; Loretta; Edmond.

MICHAEL PETERS IS CALLED AFTER LONG ILLNESS EARLY THIS MORNING

PROMINENT FARMER Of St. Sebastian Neighborhood Through Lifetime
Lived In City Twelve Years

An illness of about two years ended in the death of Frank Michael Peters this morning at 6:30 o'clock, at his home at 215 West Eighth Street. His death was due to senility.

The deceased was born at St. Sebastian, this county, on Nov. 11, 1844, and at the time of his death was aged 78 years 5 months and 25 days. He was married to Miss Mary Ankenbrandt on May 25, 1880.

Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Margaret Malatesta, Mattoon; Mrs. Rena Steckler, city; Martin Peters, Mrs. Naomi Miller, Mrs. Minnie Trapp, all of Sebastian; Mrs. Lora Kling, city; and Edmund Peters, at home. One brother, Geo. Peters, and one sister, Mrs. Michael Fredrich, both of this city, also survive. One son, one daughter, four sisters and one brother preceded him in death.

Mr. Peters was a farmer through his lifetime. About twelve years ago he retired from active farming and moved to Mount Carmel. He was a member of the Roman Catholic Church.

Arrangements for the funeral have not been completed.

FUNERAL IS HELD
Final Rites Held This Morning For Michael Peters

Funeral services were held this morning for Frank Michael Peters from the residence at 215 West Eighth Street, at 8:30 o'clock, and from the St. Mary's Catholic Church at 9:00 o'clock. In charge was Fr. Deitrich. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery. The pall bearers were Frank Keepes, John Fearheiley, George Wirth, Edgar Bertlesman, John Baumgart, Martin Friderich, Sebastian Weigand and John Kilfoil.
