Son of Victor Vanier & Elizabeth Vanier.

Francis served as a Private, 55th Infantry Battalion, 11th Armored Division, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided in Rensselaer County, New York prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on July 17, 1944 in Albany, New York. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Skilled Molder and also as Married.

Francis "Died Of Wounds" received in action during the war and was awarded the Purple Heart.
