He resided in Colorado prior to the war.
Ronald was declared "Missing In Action" in Tarawa during the war.
His remains were discovered, along with other Marines, in Cemetery 27 on Tarawa during a construction project underneath a parking lot in 2015.
Since his remains are now recovered his status was changed to "Killed In Action".
He was awarded the Purple Heart.
