Having actually gone "Missing" on the above date, he was not officially declared by the military as being dead until April 16, 1946, 1 year and 1 day after he went missing as was the custom.

Husband of Martha E. Austerman who resided in Richmond, Indiana.


Everett served as a Corporal & Gunner on B-29 #42-24821, 398th Bomber Squadron, 504th Bomber Group, Very Heavy, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.


He resided in Wayne County, Indiana prior to the war.


He enlisted in the Army on September 28, 1943 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Draftsmen and also as Single, without dependents.


Everett was married sometime after his enlistment.


Everett was declared "Missing In Action" when his B-29 was hit by enemy flak and crashed in the sea near Kanagwa during the war.


He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.
