Having actually gone "Missing" on the above date, he was not officially declared by the military as being dead until March 9, 1946.

Son of Mrs. Anna Dolenga who resided in Hamtramck, Michigan.

Raymond served as a Staff Sergeant & Gunner on B-24L #44-41422, 371st Bomber Squadron, 307th Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Wayne County, Michigan prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on October 23, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Electrician and also as Single, without dependents.

B-24L #44-41422 took off, with a crew of 10, from Kornasoren Airdrome, Noemfoor, Schouten Islands, Indonesia on a bombing mission. They were contacted once by radio and were not seen nor heard from again. The entire crew was lost.

Raymond was declared "Missing In Action" on this mission during the war.

He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.
