Johnnie E. Rule was born January 25, 1900, in Oklahoma, son of John Rule (1856-1929) and Mary Etta Johnson (1872-1962). He grew up on his parents' farm in Cleveland County, Oklahoma. Johnnie's parents had three other children, Albin M. Rule (1895-1896), died as an infant; Agnes V. Rule (1897-1983), married Scott Liner, and Marjorie E. Rule (1903-1984), married ____ Allen.
In 1920, Johnnie, a farm laborer, age 19, born in Oklahoma, was living in Lexington, Oklahoma (Cleveland County) with his father, John, age 63, born in Canada (immigrated in 1868), and his mother, Marietta, age 47, born in Texas, and two siblings: Agnes V., age 22, teaching public school; and Marjorie, age 14; both born in Oklahoma.
On October 8, 1927, Johnnie married Carrie A. Akridge, who was born December 21, 1901 in Arkansas, the second of six children born to Virgil Cicero Akridge and Lelia Brown Rolater. Carrie's siblings were: Bessie E., Henry H., Lucille A., Gracie I., and Mildred Nadine.
Johnnie died January 3, 1977 in Holdenville, Oklahoma (Hughes County) and was buried in Lexington Cemetery. Carrie died January 14, 1993 and was buried beside her husband.
