Grandmother Chandler Is Taken By Death Thursday
Eunice Edmondson was born near Yazoo, Miss. Dec. 7, 1850, where she grew to womanhood. She was united in marriage to John H. Chandler in 1871, to which union was born seven children, three of whom are now living, Mrs. C.B. Blankenship, Salem, N.M.; Mrs. W.W. Barnett, Coalgate; and W.L. Chandler, Carnegie.
She moved with her family to Bexer county, Texas in 1875, where she resided a few years, moving to the Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory in 1882. In 1891 the family moved to Pottawatomie county, Oklahoma, where they homesteaded May 31, 1900. Her companion passed on leaving her with her only son with whom she made her home.
She was converted at the age of 18 and joined the Baptist church in which faith she continued until her death.
Beside a host of friends, she leaves a number of relatives, grandchildren and great grandchildren to mourn their loss.
She departed this life Feb. 19, 1937 and was laid to rest in the Alfalfa cemetery. Garland Howard, Baptist pastor conducted the service.
