LAUREL, JONES COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, FRIDAY AUGUST 5, 1910
Clark County Man Kills Self by use of Pistol
Shubuta, Miss., Aug. 1. - William Gordon, son of Hon. A. D. Gordon, a man some forty-five years old committed suicide at his residence in Hiawannee. He had a difficulty last Friday, with a Mr. Dean, but it had been amicable adjusted. He seemed happy and went out in the woods, came back, put up his horse and after conversing with his wife a few minutes, told her he was not feeling well and he wished she would get him a drink of water. As soon as she was out of his sight he shot himself, twice in the heart. He was a woodman.
