Barbara was born NEFF, dau of Daniel Neff [B7] and Christian Erb. Her first marriage was to a David Musselman from Lancaster Co., PA. He was murdered in Cumberland Co., PA, at New Kingston, near Carlisle, on 7 Jan 1787.

The story states he was murdered on Sunday evening last, about six miles below Carlisle," This would make the date of death January 7, 1787. Estate was administered by Barbara's brother John Neff [B75] who lived in Huntingdon Co., PA, between Alexandria and Petersburg.
