Daniel was the 7th child of immigrant Henry Neff and his wife Barbara. Daniel was born in Lancaster Co., PA, on the original 308 acres farm Surveyed & Patented to his father by the Penns. He was technically born in Hempfield Twp. but the township line was moved in 1749 and became Manor Twp.

Upon the death of his father in March of 1749/50, he received 150 acres of the original farm, the northern part, and his younger brother Jacob Neff [B8]received the southern part consisting of 158 acres. By the terms of his father's will, his mother was to remain on the homestead for so long as she lived. Daniel by this time had married Christina Erb. The portion of the farm Daniel received included 1/2 of the Neff Graveyard which was on the northwest boundary with the lands belonging to Hans "John" Heistant on whose lands the other half of the graveyard was located.

In 1997 the graveyard was surveyed and initial efforts uncover both complete tombstones and fragments, some readable and some not. A very detailed discussion with sources is found in the following reference.

Daniel and Christiana Neff's second child was Daniel Neff [B72] married to Anna Bowers. Daniel died in York Co., PA, Hellam Twp. His burial location is unknown. 3/2014
