He was a member of Westside Community Church of Beatrice. He enjoyed dancing with Viola, reading his Bible, coin collecting, working puzzles and his grandchildren.
Survivors include three sons, Robert Ackerman and wife Donna of Seattle, Wash., Tommy Ackerman and wife Sherrie of Fairfield, Calif. and Gerald Myronry" Ackerman of Beatrice; six daughters, Rebecca Ackerman of Seattle, Wash., Laurinda Bartholomew and husband William of Escondido, Calif., Betty Ward and husband Michael and Bobbie Carel and husband Michael, Viola Kennedy and special friend Cole Belding all of Beatrice, Georgia Schuerman and husband Byron of DeWitt; two step-sons, Donald Huls and wife Norma of Beatrice and Theodore Huls of Cheyenne, Wyo.; three sisters, Betty, JoAnn and Donna Belle; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
