Charles Gish was the 9th child of Samuel and Elizabeth Gish born about 5 miles west of Abilene, Kansas. He moved to California when he was about 14 years old whith his Dad, Sam, step-mother Ella and a brother and sister.
He served in the Pacific in WWII and after the war was a fine finish carpenter and cabinet maker. In his later years he was a general building contractor building homes, commercial buildings and even a Church in the South Coast Plaza area.
Charles married Mary Viola Maynard August 1936 in Santa Ana, Calif. and they had two sons, Donald and Charles, and two daughters, Dorothy and Karen. After Mary's death, he married Louise Sadler on September 1962 in Santa Ana, California and they had a daughter, Judy.
