Rebekah, daughter of Henry & Ruth Stewart, was born in Pennsylvania, November 11, 1837, and passed away at the home of her younger daughter, Mrs. L.F. Edwards, of near Stockport, Iowa, July 17, 1923, at the age of 85 years, 8 months and 6 days. She leaves to mourn her departure one son, two daughters, one brother, Castor Stewart; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She came to Iowa with her parents 54 years ago, settling in Des Moines county.
On January 28, 1864, she was united in marriage with George Teal. To this union four children were born, two sons and two daughters. John, the elder son, passed away in April 1922. Her husband died 14 years ago and a number of years ago she joined the Baptist Church at Utica where she continued her membership until called to her reward.
Mrs. Teal was laid to rest in the Miller Chapel cemetery in the presence of a large number of friends, Thursday, July 19, at about noon, the services being conducted by Rev. T.S. Pool, of Mt. Pleasant, an old-time friend.
