DIES IN ELWOOD
ELWOOD, July 27. -- Funeral
services for Clyde Major, 60, will
be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at
the East Main Street Christian
church, with Rev. Byron Mahan,
pastor, in charge. Burial will be
in Elwood city cemetery. Mr.
Major, 601 North Fourteenth
street, died at Mercy hospital
Sunday at 2:30 p.m. He had
been in failing health for several
years.
Born March 2, 1888, in Tipton,
he was the son of Joseph and
Emma Major. December 30,
1905, he and Hazel Warner were
married. Mr. Major was a re-
tired grocer, a member of the
East Main Street Christian
church and the I.O.O.F. en-
campment.
Survivors include the widow;
two sons, Fred Major, Elwood
and Ralph Major, Indianapolis;
one granddaughter; a brother,
claude Major, of Carmel, and a
sister, Mrs. Jack Rushton, of At-
lanta.
The body was removed to the
Copher and Fesler funeral home
and was returned to the resi-
dence Tuesday noon.
