Robert Little was the 3rd of 7 children born to Kenneth Marvin and Maude Noella Miller Chaffin. He was the husband of Martha Esther Byerly. Robert Chaffin was a hardworking man with strong religious beliefs. His family of 6 children: Robert Alexander, Mildred Louise, John Wesley, Donald Douglas Sr., James Marvin and Bruce Mitchel Chaffin, and 1 grandson: Donald Douglas Chaffin Jr. that he raised, were the most important things in his life. He retired from Wynonna Cotton Mill, Lexington, North Carolina after 25 years of service. On July 4, 1969 he lost his left eye due to an accident with a sparkler.
