Caroline's parents were:

Caroline was married to Charles Dodson in Surry Co, NC on May 15, 1777.

Their children were:
1. Millicent "Millie" b February 6, 1775 in Surry Co, NC - she married Timothy Stamps.
2. Dillingham, who became a minister of the gospel, b June 10, 1777 in Keowee Oconee Co, SC - he married Mahala Logan.
3. Armstead b December 9, 1782 in SC - he married Nancy Creel & after her death, Abigail Duty.
4. Rebecca T. b 1785 - she married Robert Samuel Logan.
5. Elisha Jefferson b March 11, 1788 in Stokes Co, NC - he married Elizabeth Wren & after her death, Elizabeth Blackwell.
6. Ruth b 1790 (died sometime after the 1850 Census) - married Laban Halloway.

Charles served in the Revolutionary War. On May 15, 1777, he enlisted in Capt. Joseph Phillips Company, 4th NC Regiment, which was under the command of Col. Thomas Polk, & served until the end of the war.

After the war Charles & Lucy lived a while on the Keowee River in the Pendleton District of SC. It isn't known when he went into the ministry, but records show that he was a Baptist minister in 1800 in the Keowee River Church. The church was built on a two acre lot of land originally granted to John Gresham in Pendleton District, near Fort Prince George and Crow Creek on the Keowee River

Later they moved to Warren Co, KY, settling on land that later became Allen County. They made their home on John's Creek about seven miles west of Scottsville, the county seat of Allen County.

Lucy died in 1823.
