Mrs Sophia Fruechtenicht, 73, died at 5 am today at the home of a son, Frank Fruechtenicht, on the Decatur Road, after a year-'s illness of arthritis and complications. Mrs Fruechtenicht was a lifelong resident of Allen County. She was a daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Diedrick Scheumann and was the widow of Fred Fruechtenicht who died 10 years ago.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs John Hartman, Mrs William E Kruse and Mrs Carl Schmidt and four sons, Frank Martin Fred and Hugo, all of this city and vicinity; 15 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; three brothers, William, Theodore and Martin Scheumann, all of Allen County, and four sisters, Mrs. Minnie Scheumann, of this city, Mrs Charles Dirkson of Hobson, Mont, Mrs Henry Auman of Adams County and Mrs Herman Seddelmeyer of Allen County.

Mrs Fruechtenicht was a member of Suburban Trinity Lutheran Church and Ladies' Aid Society. The body was removed to the Scheumann Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 1:30pm at the son's home five miles south of this city on the Decatur Road and at 2pm at Suburban Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev Karl Wyneken officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. The body will be returned to the son's home Friday afternoon where it may be viewed.
