He was born October 9, 1912 in Wittenberg, the son of Miles Sickler and the late Anna (Anderson) Sickler.
In addition to his father, survivors include one daughter, Jean Sickler; one brother, Lester (Esther) Sickler, Wittenberg; three sisters, Pearl (Carl) Hanson, Hazel (Ray) Laude and Helen (Hobert) Adams, all of Wittenberg.
Ernest was preceded in death by his mother and four brothers, including Reynolds.
Funeral services were held January 21, 1958 at Schmidt's Funeral Home, Wittenberg. The Rev. R. King officiated. Interment was in Forest Home Cemetery, Wittenberg.
