Herman James Webber, 87, of 3701 Old Forest Road, died at 9:25 p.m. Saturday in Lynchburg General Hospital after a shot illness. He was the husband of Mrs. Thelma Barnbridge Webber. He was born in Appomattox County. In addition to his wife he is survived by four sons, Carlton J. Webber and Morris T. Webber of Lynchburg, Jesse R. Webber of Chesapeake and Chesley H. Webber of Ruckersville; two daughters, Mrs. Merle W. Bruffy of Rustburg, and Mrs. Mary W. Evans of Forest; two sisters, Mrs. Jessie Barber of Samona, Calif., and Mrs. Elizabeth Flogus of Detroit; 21 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. today in Virginia Memorial Park. Whitten Timberlake Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
