SPRINGHILL, LA - Funeral services for Evie Burrell Basinger, age 93, will be held Friday, August 4, 2006 at 1:00 PM in the Bailey Mortuary Chapel, Springhill, with Rev. James Hooker officiating. Interment will follow in the Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Mortuary, Springhill, LA.
Visitation will begin Thursday at 5:00 PM.
Mrs. Basinger was born September 29, 1912 in Springhill, LA to John Louis and Georgia Barnes Burrell and passed away August 1, 2006 in Springhill Medical Center. She was a lifelong resident of this area, a member of the Springhill United Pentecostal Church and was a homemaker.
She is survived by two daughters, Marilyn Cole, Rita Flores and husband, Johnny, all of Springhill, LA; five granddaughters; eleven great grandchildren; one step great granddaughter; one great great granddaughter; one step great great granddaughter and one sister, Ruby Butts of Springhill, LA and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Basinger was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Nolan Basinger; brothers, Percy, Ed, Drayton, Delton and John Burrell; sisters, Julephine Morse, Pearle "Pat" Morse, Emmogene Townsend and a son-in-law, Billy Ray Cole.
