George was the son of William and Ann Sophia Zimmerman Blessing and the stepson of Mary Thomas Blessing. He was the husband of Catherine May Hood, who died in 1940. He was survived by his children William, Edward and George Blessing, Ann Beall, Helen Eddins and Julia Wasicek, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
