The death occurred in the Vancouver General Hospital on Monday, March 26th, of John Scott a well known local resident, who three weeks ago went to the coast in hopes that the change would be beneficial to his health. The remains were shipped back home arriving on Wednesday night's train and the funeral will be held from the family residence, "Brant Cottage," 424 Marten Street, this afternoon, Friday, at 2:30 o'clock. Interment will be made in the Banff Cemetery. Rev. Mr. Montgomery will conduct the services. The following will act as pallbearers: Messrs. D.G. Wilson, Ed Copley, Claude Scarr, John Neff, Ed Hume and James Edwards.

The late John Scott was born on the Northumberland Border, England, 60 years ago. At the age of 14 months with his parents he moved to Yorkshire. In his early manhood he came to the United States and located in Pennsylvania later coming to Canada, where he worked in different places. At the time the Bankhead coal fields were being opened up he came to the mountains and remained here continually, a resident of Bankhead until the close of that camp in 1922, when he moved into Banff. He was the last man to quit work at the abandoned coal camp, being occupied as stable boss.

The late Mr. Scott is survived by his wife Jennie, two sons, William and John, of Banff, and three brothers and three sisters in England.
