Arthur F. Carlson, 82, Nokomis, died at home Aug. 4, 2004. He was born Oct. 24, 1921, in Belfast, Maine, and came to Nokomis in 1984 from Miami. He was an electrical engineer for the University of Miami for 15 years and had previously worked in radio at WQAM and WIOD in Miami. He graduated from the University of Maine in 1943. Survivors include a son, Arthur P. of Tallahassee; a daughter, Sara Matherly of Fayetteville, N.C.; a sister, Dorothy Sheeler of Miami; and four grandchildren. Memorial services will be later. Farley Funeral Home and Crematory, Venice Chapel, is in charge.
