Vera first married James Rutherford Crim; Her second husband Mr. BrownMiss Vera Lovell married J. R. Crim, Jr. on June 28, 1916 in Rusk, Cherokee County, Texas. They had four children:

Silver Carroll Crim

Carrie Pauline Patterson lived most of her life in Port Arthur, Texas. She died May 8, 2009 and is buried in the Weches Cemetery in Houston County, Texas.

James Carlton Crim was a B-29 pilot in World War II and was shot down over Kawasaki, Japan in 1945. He is listed on the Tablets of the Missing Memorial in Honolulu, Hawaii. He also has a memorial stone at the Weches Cemetery in Houston County, Texas.

Iris Modene McHenry lived in Caldwell, Texas most of her adult life. She died August 17, 2012, just days before her 86th birthday; she is buried in Caldwell, Texas.

Silver Carroll resides in San Antonio, Texas. Silver served twenty-eight years in the Air Force during the Koren and Viet Nam wars, retiring as a Lt. Colonel in 1977. He then had a successful career with a large financial institution in San Antonio.

Vera's husband James Rutherford Crim died in an automobile accident near Weches, Texas. Both are buried at Weches Cemetery in Houston County, Texas.
