Wendell attended Curry University, a prep school that later became Duff's Iron City Business School in Pittsburgh, PA. He studied law at Ohio Northern U., Ada, Ohio, and was admitted to the bar in 1900. He did not practice law. He started as a bookkeeper, rising to executive positions with several steel companies. Wendell Myres; Ex-Steel Official - Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. today at the Rhodes Funeral Home, Tionesta, Pa., for Wendell D. Myers, 77, formerly an official in the old Brier Hill Steel Co., and other steel firms here. He died of pneumonia Monday in Warren, Pa.

Mr. Myres, reared and educated in Pennsylvania, was admitted to the Ohio bar in 1900 and for a time was associated with the cost department of U.S. Steel Corp. in Pittsburgh. He came to Youngstown shortly after and was with the Empire Iron & Steel Co. and later became general auditor of the Brier Hill Steel Co., now the Youngstown Sheet & Tube Co. In 1920 he was elected secretary and treasurer of the Electric Welding Steel Co. of Youngstown, now Youngstown Steel & Alloy Co. He was a member of the Masonic organization in Niles, Al Koran Shrine of Cleveland, and Knights Templar of Youngstown.

His first wife, Margaret E. Shade, died in 1918. Besides his wife, the former Ida Lewis, he leaves a son, Robert W. of Scottsdale, Pa.; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Kuser of Orlando, FL., and Mrs. Janet Klingensmith of New Kensington, Pa., a sister, Mrs. Blanche Bogart of Marley, MD., and six grandchildren. Burial will be Friday in Liberty Cemetery, Girard, OH.

Wendell D. Myres of Tionesta, formerly of Youngstown, O., and Pittsburgh, died at 9 p.m. Monday after a long illness. He was auditor of the Briar Hill Steel Co. Youngstown and had served as secretary-treasurer of the Alloy Steel Co., now known as the Youngstown Sheet and Tube, and held several other executive positions with other steel companies. Mr. Myres was a member of Blue Lodge, F & AM, Niles, O., Al-Koran Shrine of Cleveland and Knights Templar of Youngstown, Ohio. Besides his wife, the former Ida Lewis, he leaves three children, Robert W. Myres of Scottsdale, Mrs. Margaret Kuser of Orlando, Fla., and Mrs. Janet Klingensmith of New Kensington; six grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Blanda Bogart of Marley, Md. Services will be held at Tionesta at 5 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in the Liberty Cemetery at Girard, Ohio, at 1 p.m. Friday.

Wendell D. Myres of Tionesta, formerly of Youngstown and Pittsburgh, died at 9 p. m. Monday in Warren Hospital following an extended illness.

Mr. Myres was an auditor in Briar Hill Steel Company in Youngstown; secretary and treasurer of Alloy Steel Company, now Youngstown Sheet and Tube Company and held executive positions in several other steel concerns.

He was a member of Blue Lodge in Niles, 0.; Al-Koran Shrine of Cleveland and Knights Templar of Youngstown.

Surviving are his wife, the former Ida Lewis and three children: Robert W. of Scottdale, Margaret Kuser of Orlando, Fla., and Janet Klingingsmith of New Kensington.
