Lucy Stansell, 88, of San Bernardino, Calif., died July 10, 2003, at the home of her granddaughter, in Phelan, Calif.
She was born June 30, 1915, at Kingston, Ark., the daughter of Thaddeus and Matilda Dotson Yingst. She moved to Ontario, Calif. as a young girl. She was married to Loys E. Stansell on June 30, 1937. He preceded her in death on Feb. 1, 1977.
To this union were born two children. She is survived by a son, Norman Stansell of Carlsbad, Calif. and a daughter, Ginger Raelene Crawford of Hesperia, Calif. Other survivors are four grandsons: Michael, Mark and Matthew Stansell and Daniel Crawford; four granddaughters: Michelle McMahon, Kari Brown, Megan Ferber, and Amanda Crawford.
She is also survived by a sister, Bessie Campbell of Victorville, Calif.; 12 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, many in Madison County.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rialto, Calif.
Memorial services were held July 16, 2003, at Draper Memorial Chapel in Ontario, Calif. with the Reverends Mark Stansell and Cass Schriech officiating. Interment was in Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Ontario, Calif.
