Tressa Isabelle Gochenour, 77, of 1691 U.S. Highway 340, Luray, Va., died Wednesday, May 9, 2007, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg. Mrs. Gochenour was born Aug. 13, 1929, in Luray, and was the daughter of the late Archie Rivers Painter and Ollie March (Mayes) Painter. She was a homemaker and was a member of Mount Zion Church of the Brethren.

On June 30, 1951, she married Nelson Hinton Gochenour, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Shirley Carol (Gochenour) Fleharty and son-in-law, Ralph "Butch" Fleharty of Luray; a daughter, Connie Darlene (Gochenour) Moyer and son-in-law, Max Moyer of Southampton, Pa. and special nephews, Carlton Larry Good Jr. and Wayne Trenton Good. She was also preceded in death by five brothers,

Roscoe "Nuggie" Painter, Buford Painter, Medford L. "Bill" Painter, Rudolph Painter and W. Bruce Painter and four sisters, Phoebe A. Comer, Mozelle Crozier, Mildred M. Harding and Deliah R. Mauck. The Rev. Robbie Burke, Pastor Gary Major and Elder Forest Atwood will conduct the funeral 11 a.m. today at Mount Zion Church of the Brethren.


Burial will be at Mount Zion Cemetery in Luray.
