Orgil C. Reed, 78, of Kevil died at 9:11 a.m. Sunday at Western Baptist Hospital.

Mr. Reed was a member of Heath Church of Christ.

Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Veda Irene Reed; four sons, Darran Reed of West Plains, Mo., Roger Ashberger of Kevil, Jerry Ashberger and Alford Ashberger, both of Kansas, City, Kan.; three daughters, Brenda Kimble of Brick Tree, Mo., Linda Jackson of West Plains, Mo., and Virgie Day of Kansas City; two brothers, David Reed and LaVern Reed, both of Mountain Home; five sisters, Elsie Crawford of Mountain Home, Virgie Holmes of Gamelia, Ark., Anna Lee Hency of Cassville, Mo., Edna Crawford of Bakersville, Mo., and Ruby Hawly of Tonganoxie, KS; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Scott Reed; one brother; and one sister. His parents were Thurman and Caroline Foster Reed.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Morrow Funeral Chapel in La Center with Chris Renfrow officiating. Burial will be at Fluty Cemetery in Gamilia, Ark., on Thursday.

Friends may call after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
