Margaret Burgess married Robert Lee Upham on 2 July 1891 at McKinney, Texas. The couple first lived at Comanche, Texas. They moved to Gordon, Texas when their first child, Benjamin Jesse was a child. In 1905, Bob and Alice Upham bought 160 acres of land on Cedar Creek in Palo Pinto County. This land had been settled by the Brawner family. The place was later lived on by James and Patch Reed. Today, that land is under water at Possum Kingdom Lake. The Uphams moved to McAlester, Oklahoma in 1917 and then moved to Graham in 1928.

Alice Upham moved to Young County as a child with her parents. She made her home the past few years with a daughter in Gordon, Texas.

Funeral was held at First Baptist Church in Graham officiated by Rev. Buford Stockard, Rev. Hubert Foust.

Survivors: son - Jesse "Jess" B. Upham, daughters - Mrs. Will Barron, Mrs. J.L. Briscoe, Mrs. Ora Davis, 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; sister - Mrs. Georgie Copeland, nieces, nephews.
