Mrs. Copeland, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. B.E. Burgess, who moved to Stephens County and were early day ranchers in Mrs. Copeland's childhood. She attended school at South Prairie, Texas.
Georgia Burgess married Sam Copeland 24 February 1895. They were the parents of five children. From the time of their marriage the Copelands were residents of Young County, and moved to Graham in 1906. Mr. Copeland preceded his wife in death in 1948.
Georgia Burgess Copeland joined the Baptist church in July, 1892, when she was 14 years old, at South Bend, Texas. She was a long time member of the First Baptist church of Graham.
Survived by one daughter: Mrs. M.W. Larmour; two sons: Clinton Copeland and Monroe Copeland; five grandchildren: Mrs. G.B. Johnson; Jim Larmour, Mrs. Irvin S. Michalove; John Miller Copeland; W.A. Copeland; 15 great; two great great.
