Services for Ava Lee Bell, 80, of Belton will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.

Burial will be in Bellwood Memorial Park.

Mrs. Bell died Saturday, Nov. 12, at a Fort Worth nursing home.

She was born in Throckmorton to William W. and Sally Starr. She attended Hartzog's School of Cosmetology in Wichita Falls, and then she went to Comptometer School of Fort Worth and Cameron Business College of Temple. She married Cecil Preston Bell on Sept. 20, 1955, in Belton. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Belton. She was a past president of Merak Temple Daughters of Nile in Waco, past matron of Temple Chapter 153 Order of the Eastern Star, past president of Bluebonnet Lodge 329, Ladies Auxiliary of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary to the United Transportation Union. She also served as chairman for Precinct 1 of the Democratic Party in Bell County.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Survivors are one son, Robert Bell of Belton; three brothers, Roland Starr, Hugh Starr and Elmer Starr; two sisters, Rita D. Ballew and Hazel Starr; and two grandchildren.
