Joseph Roland Starr was born November 5, 1922 in Camp Springs, TX to Wiliam Milton and Sallie D. Mikeal Starr. He died November 25, 2012 at Denton Rehabilitation and Nursing in Denton. Joe served in the US Navy on the Carrier USS Mission Bay in WWII. He was a 50 year member of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Union and a long time member of First United Methodist Church, St. Paul the Apostle Men's Club in Richardson, TX and the VFW. Joe married Margaret Agnes Benko in 1946. She preceded him in death in 1998. Also deceased are son, David Starr; sisters, Ava Lee Bell, Zelma Mae Love and Hazel Starr; brother, Andrew Starr. He is survived by daughters, Patricia Marr of Denton and Mary Anne Reinlein of Plano; sons, Joseph Starr of Nacogdoches and Robert Starr of Mesquite; sister, Rita Dee Ballew of Arlington; brothers, Hugh Starr of Millsap and Elmer Starr of Arlington and 6 grandchildren. Service will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at First United Methodist Church of Richardson, 503 N. Central Expy., Richardson, TX 75080 with Rev. David D. Scroggin officiating.
