Mrs. Savannah M. Gates died at the home of her son-in-law, Thomas E. Hunt, 103 West Nineteenth street, this morning. Mrs. Gates was 76 years of age. She suffered a paralytic stroke September 18, last, and had been in poor physical condition since. A second stroke yesterday proved fatal. Mrs. Gates was the widow of a Civil war veteran and the mother of five children, four sons, and one daughter, Mrs. Hunt. Two of the sons live in Idaho, one in Iowa, and one in California. These, with six grandchildren and other relatives, mourn her death. Funeral services will be held Saturday evening, at the home, at 7:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Erwine Thompson of the Methodist church, and the body will be shipped to Tuscola, Ill., for burial.
