She was born at Hawkinsville, Aug. 3, 1856, a daughter of the late Jacob and Mary Casttor Dedrick. Her parents were pioneer settlers of this section, coming from Germany to Albany and later moving to Hawkinsville, coming by way of the canal. Mrs. Smith was the last of 13 children.
On April 28, 1881, she was married to Henry Smith, the ceremony being performed in Boonville by the Rev. Mr. Lloyd, pastor of the Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are three sons, Charles of Albany; Fred and Henry, Hawkinsville; two daughters, Miss Betty and Miss Alice Smith, both of Hawkinsville; a grandson, Robert H. Brooks, Boonville.

She was a native and life resident of Hawkinsville.
A daughter, Mrs. Fay H. Brooks, died Tuesday at Boonville.
Mrs. Smith was married at Boonville on Apr. 28, 1881. The Rev. Mr. Lloyd, then pastor of the Boonville Presbyterian Church, officiated.
Mrs. Smith was the last of 13 children born to Jacob and Mary Casttor Dederick, pioneer settlers in this„ community. They came from Germany and settled here after a short stay in Albany.
