QUANAH - Helen Louise Wheat Foster, 81, died Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, in Childress.

Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. today in Goodlett Cemetery with the Rev. Monte Lumpkin, pastor of Goodlett Baptist Church, officiating. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Monte Lumpkin officiating and Dr. Craig Darter of Childress assisting. Arrangements are by Smith Funeral Home.

Mrs. Foster was born Feb. 17, 1928, in Quanah to William Clark and Myrtle Hoffmeyer Wheat. She married Van D. Foster on April 14, 1956, in Wolfforth.

Survivors include a daughter, Vanda Wright and husband Jay of Wichita Falls; two sons, Rodney Foster of Quanah and Jay Foster of Childress; and nine grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to Goodlett Cemetery Association; or First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 681, Quanah, TX 79252.
