Adam served as a Technician Fifth Grade, Headquarter's Company, 32nd Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided in Crawford County, Michigan prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on December 8, 1941 at Fort Custer, Michigan. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Guard and also as Single, without dependents.

Adam was a passenger on C-46D #44-77360 that was assigned to the 70th Squadron, 433rd Troop Carrier Group, U.S. Army Air Force.

C-46D #44-77360 took off, with a crew of 4 and 21 passengers, on a ferrying mission from Elmore Field, Mindoro, Philippine Islands to Tarauan, Leyte, Philippine Islands.

They crashed, due to bad weather, into a mountainside approximately 4 miles northwest of San Roque, Leyte, Philippine Islands. The entire crew and all passenger were killed on this flight.

Adam was "Killed In Action" in the "Line Of Duty" on this mission during the war.

He was originally interred overseas and was later repatriated here on November 15, 1950.

Service # 36163648

The reason he is named on a group headstone is because when soldiers & sailors were killed in close proximity to each other they were unable, at that time, to identify them separately and interred their remains together in one grave.
