Lewis D. Bassler of this city, died at 10 oclock Monday night at the home of his brother in Assumption. Death was due to an attack of pneumonia. He went to his brothers house only a few days ago apparently in good health. The pneumonia was brought on by hemorrhages.
The deceased has lived in Decatur for about a year, coming here from his home in Assumption. He was engaged in the real estate business as a partner of the firm of Stroh & Bassler, Powers building.
He was 42 years old. He leaves a wife and two children, two brothers and three sisters.
The funeral will be held at 2 oclock Wednesday afternoon from the residence, 11059 W.Wood street, instead of an hour later as announced the Burial will likely be in Greenwood cemetery.
