Mr. Alvis Baucom, a good citizen of New Salem township, died last Wednesday. His wife died on the second of the month and after a long illness the husband followed. Mr. and Mrs. Baucom were highly esteemed people of their section. Mr. Baucom was a Confederate soldier and was 78 yeas old. He was twice married and leaves seven children.
