S. T. Kennedy of 309 East Superior Street, well known in the wholesale and vending machine business several years, died at 1:55 a.m. today at the Witham Hospital where he had been a patient one day.
Mr. Kennedy moved to Lebanon in May, 1931, from Dixon, Ill., and traveled 16 years for the Federal Match Company. He entered the wholesale and vending machine business in 1933 and retired from the wholesale enterprise in 1937, selling to Woods Wholesale but he maintained the vending machine business until his death.
He was a member of the Eagles Lodge at Frankfort and the Elks, and Moose Lodges, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Fathers Auxiliary and an associate member of the Fraternal Order of Police in Lebanon.
Mr. Kennedy was born at Reading, Pa., March 24, 1894, and was a son of John C. and Emma R. (Pennock) Kennedy, both natives of Pennsylvania. He was married July 1, 1916, at Ottowa, Ill., to Viola Mae Simpson, who survives.
Besides the widow, he leaves six children, Mrs. Florence E. Marsden of Poway, Calif., Mrs. Joanne Yager of Indianapolis, Mrs. Mary Lou Carney of Lebanon Route 4, Miss Judy Rae Kennedy at home, John C. Kennedy of San Francisco, Calif., and James W. Kennedy at home; a sister, Mrs. Mable Dahle of Harvard, Ill., and 11 grandchildren. One grandson, Michael E. Miller, lives in the Kennedy home. Two sons, three sisters and four brothers are deceased.
