The funeral of Mrs. Emma Rebecca Kennedy will be held from her home, 401 Hennepin Avenue, Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. In the absence of her pastor, Rev. J. Frank Young of the Presbyterian church, Rev. Bickenbach of Oregon will officiate and interment will be in Oakwood.
Mrs. Emma Rebecca Kennedy, wife of John C. Kennedy, 401 Hennepin Avenue, a resident of Dixon for the past 27 years, died August 14 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Guy Moulton near Franklin Grove, after an illness of four months duration.
Emma Rebecca Pennock was born in Collegeville, Pa. January 16, 1864. Her early life was spent in Reading, Pa. She united in marriage with John C. Kennedy of Reading, Pa., October 29, 1881. To this union were born seven children, two of whom preceded her in death, William S. and Ella Edith. She leaves to mourn her passing, her beloved husband: three daughters, Mrs. Mabel Dahle, Big Foot, IL., Mrs. Ethel Craig, Harmon, Mrs. Elizabeth Moulton, Franklin Grove, and two sons, Frank of Elmhurst and Sheridan of Lebanon, Ind. One sister, Mrs. William Rankin of Philadelphia, one brother, Oscar Pennock of Reading, Pa., 22 grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive, together with hosts of friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was a member of Olivet Presbyterian church of Reading, Pa., later transferring her membership to the Presbyterian church of this city of which she was an active and faithful member, as long as her health permitted. She was a member of Minnie Bell Rebekah lodge, Dorothy chapter, O.E.S., Corinthian Shrine and the Women's Relief Corp.
