Oscar was the son of Burrell J. and Mary E. Martin Bass.

He was one of eight children. The other children were: Harriet C., Martin C., James D., John N., Mary E.J., Ellah E. and Idellah R.

Oscar Whitt Bass Dies At Hillsboro

Funeral services for Oscar Whitt Bass, 78, Hillsboro, will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Hillsboro Baptist Church, with Rev. Jimmy Caudill and Rev. A.H. Nabors officiating.

Burial will follow at Wren in the Montgomery Cemetery, with Brown of Moulton directing.

Mr. Bass passed away Sunday at 10:25 p.m. following a long illness.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Sims Bass, Hillsboro; four daughters, Mrs. A.C. Rhinehart, Rome, Ga; Mrs. Clark Weatherwax Sr, Moulton; Mrs. Tommy Terry, Hillsboro; and Mrs. Thomas Newsom, Decatur; four sons, Tennis and Otis, of Hillsboro; Neal of Decatur; and Layton of Mobile; 15 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one brother, Davis Bass; one sister, Mrs. J.R. Armor, Moulton; and numerous other relatives.
