August A. (Duke) Pella, 77, of 122 Sampson St., Kittanning died Tuesday, July 9, 1996, in his home. He was born on August 31, 1917, to Andrew and Anna Pella in Ford City. He is survived by his wife Gwendolyn (Wolfe) Pella, of 52 years. Retired from Pullman Standard in butler, he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II in Europe. He was a member of the Kit-Han-Ne Rock and Gem Club and an avid hunter and fisherman. In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons; John L. Pella and Charles A. Pella, both of Kittanning; one daughter Diana Lynn Beer of Adrian; seven grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; three sisters; and a grandson. Pella - Friends of August A. (Duke) Pella, 77, of 122 Sampson St., Kittanning, who died July 9, 1996, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 South McKean St., Kittanning where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday with Rev. Richard Moolguarrd of the Wilson Avenue Church of God, officiating.
