"Died in Canfield township, April 26th, 1879, Daniel Weaver, aged 80 years, 1month and 21 days. Daniel Weaver was born in Lynn township, Lehigh county, Pa. March 5th, 1799. He moved to Canfield in 1830, and was united in marriage to Miss Sophia Growser. They were blessed with eight daughters, all of whom survive, to mourn his loss. His remains were interred in the German Reform cemetery north of Canfield on Monday."

"On Monday last, A. D. Wood, Esq., was appointed and qualified by Probate Court as executor of the estate of Daniel Weaver late of Canfield township."

Page 281 "Daniel Weaver and his family mover by wagon from their Pennsylvania home to Mahoning county, Ohio, making their home in Canfield township, where he owned land which he farmed. He was known throughout the country-side as an excellent shot with any kind of fire-arm, and many were the wild creatures of the forest that fell before his unerring aim. He was powerful physically, being 6 feet 2 inches tall and was one man of the few who could carry nine bushels of rye at one time. He died at the age of eighty-five years. Daniel and Sophia Weaver were the parents of: Polly, Katie, Eli, Sarah, Mary, Rebecca, Lydia, of previous mention, married Christian Greasel, and Lucy, all deceased."

Children: Katie; Polly; Sarah (1.Augustus Flickinger 2.David Simon); Eli (Eliza Jane Keck); Mary Ann (Ansel Demmick Wood); Rebecca (James Patrick Ramsey); Lydia (1.Christian Greasel 2.Adam Honodle); and Lucy Jane (James Glenn)
