Mrs. Lucien H. Bowen

Mrs. Lucien H. Bowen, aged 81, died at Hudson Falls on Friday, April 20, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Werner, after an illness of two years. She was for many years a resident of Cooperstown.

She was born on June 26, 1874, the daughter of James and Amelia (Son) Saxton. She married Lucien H. Bowen in 1893. He died September 4, 1938.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Joseph Furlong of Glens Falls, and Mrs. William werner of Hudson falls; two sons, Lucien J. Bowen of Oneonta, and Herbert W.S. Bowen of Rensselaer; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grand-children; a sister, Mrs. edwin Smith, Cooperstown; a brother, James N. Saxton, Springfield Center; and several nieces and nephews.

A prayer service was held on Saturday at the Wilson Funeral Home in Hudson Falls.

Funeral services were held at the First mehtodist Church in Cooperstown at 3 p.m. on Sunday with the Rev. Arthur landmesser, pastor of the Rensselaer methodist Church, officiating, assited by the Rev. Robert h. Sheehan, pastor of the church. Burial was in Westville Cemetery.
