Nelson Alexander Spencer was born May 4, 1847 in Crawford Co. Missouri and died in Dec. 1882 Woodland, Red River Co. Texas. He was the son of Alexander Marcus Spencer & Mary Hester Ann Calvird, in about 1869 he married Mary E. Ballard in Pulaski Co.
Missouri, to there union were 4 children 2 son's John Alexander Spencer, Andrew Spencer & 2 daughter's E. J. Spencer and Eliza L. Spencer. He was a brother to William W. Spencer, Margaret A. Spencer, Thomas Spencer, Alexander F. Spence, Sarah H. Spencer and Eliza C. Spencer.
Nelson was also a brother to 1/2 sibling's Marion Forest Spencer, Jefferson Davis Spencer, Henry P. Spencer, Robert "Bob" Spencer, Leander "Lee" Stevens Spencer, Ada Spencer and Benjamin Marcus Spencer.

This is an above ground vault. The stone top is severely cracked and it's hard to read it's inscription.
