Obituary - Wiley W. Brannen died Dec. 9, 1921. He was born Jan. 3, 1854 and was twice married, his first wife being Miss Angelina Hagin. To this union were born eight children, five of whom survive: Mrs. Harry Fowler, Savannah; Mrs. P. J. Haden, Atlanta; Mrs. Augusta Hinton, Brevard, N.C.; Mrs. L. B. Bessinger, Dade City, Fla.; and Cecil Brannen, Portal. One son, Leslie Brannen and two daughters, Mrs. Janie Thompson and Miss Lige Brannen preceded him in death. His second wife was Miss Bessie Lanier, who survives. He was a son of John T. and Lavinia Lee Brannen. Burial at Lott's Creek Church.

First wife of Wiley Brannen was Angia Hagin. Her name was actually Anna Jane, shortened to Angia. Submitted by her great-granddaughter, Carolyn Woods Usher Cooper (7/3/2011).
